Today, our colleagues responsible for traffic intersection management took part in a training session with representatives from Teledyne FLIR
To manage intersections as efficiently as possible, we need to accurately detect every vehicle approaching them.
One of the detection options is the ThermiCam2 thermal camera from FLIR.
– ThermiCam2 detects vehicles and cyclists approaching an intersection and enables dynamic traffic light control.
– It operates without the need for visible light, using the heat energy emitted by road users. This allows the sensor to detect vehicles, cyclists, and pedestrians at night, over long distances, and in adverse weather conditions.
– It can also detect wrong-way drivers within seconds and provides precise counting of vehicles, bicycles, and pedestrians.
– Of course, we integrate all these data, along with other inputs from the intersection controller, into the Invipo Smart City platform.
